SIR GEORGE MAXWELL , K.B.E., C.M.G.
BRITISH MALAYA, rich in tin, rubber, and other products, comprises the Colony of the Straits Settlements in the Federated Malay States, including Perak, and the Unfederated Malay States ; and Sir George Maxwell , who broadcasts a talk on Malaya this evening, has had life-long experience there.
He has held various magisterial and judicial appointments in the Free Malay States and Straits Settlements Civil Service, and has been both Solicitor-General and Acting Attorney-General to the Straits Settlements. He was acting Colonial Secretary there from 1914 to 1916; acting British Resident, Perak, 1917, and acting Secretary to the High Commissioner for the Malay States and Brunei, 1917. He is Chairman of the Tin Producers' Association, and has published several compilations of the laws of the Straits Settlements and of Perak.
