Peggy Shimmin 's arrangement of three French folk songs (' Le coucou,' ' Une fillette a sa poupee,' and ' Oui, Monsieur Polichinel ') was brought forward last January by the Society for the Promotion of New Music. At a concert given by the Society in 1948 the first five movements of William Bardwell 's Diablotins ' were played; the remaining five#moveimenits were added two years later, and tonight-the complete work is being performed for Che first time.
