The Day Britain Stopped

on BBC Two England

A fictional UK transport crisis develops over the course of one day - 19 December 2003 - in this dramatised documentary. Made in the style of a classic retrospective documentary, with hindsight interviews with key players (primarily played by actors) and mock archive footage, the programme looks at a catastrophe and national tragedy that unfolds when the warning signs of over-burdened transport systems are ignored. Narrated by Tim Pigott-Smith.
