I See What You Mean

on BBC One London

A series of ten programmes for hearing-impaired people, those who live and work with them, and for the plain curious ... 8:In my view .
The deaf for too long have been the Cinderellas of the handicapped in Britain. JACK ASHLEY, CH, MP, the only totally deaf member of any legislature in the world, lost his hearing some years ago, shortly after becoming a Member of Parliament. In this programme, the first of two, he presents personal accounts of the provision (or lack of it) which is made for deafened people in this country.
(The programme will be captioned for those who cannot hear.)
