Every year the television companies of the world send their best entertainment programmes to Switzerland, to compete for the Golden Rose of Montreux. Tim Brooke-Taylor, Graeme Garden and Bill Oddie take a lightning tour through the city of Montreux in festival week, and sample some of this year's entries, which include their own Goodies - at the Movies.
Other contenders for this year's top prize are comedies from Pakistan, Finland, Norway, and Yorkshire - Les Dawson's Holiday with Strings; there are musicals featuring Sylvie Vartan (France), Tom Jones (Spain), Clodagh Rodgers (Ireland), and Manfred Krug (East Germany); a circus fantasy from Hungary, ballet from Bulgaria, blues from Canada, music-hall from Belgium.
