Maty Wimbush in * Mount Up With Wings by Mary De Bunsen
Adapted for radio by Alan Hancock
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles: they shall run and not be weary: they shall walk and not faint
Mary De Bunsen, pilot and journalist, had struggled against illness for most of her life. After four years with Air Transport Auxiliary during the war, she was given ten years to live by a heart specialist. But revolutionary developments in cardiac surgery have given her a new lease of life and enabled her once more to mount up with wings.'
