Live from the Royal Albert Hall, London.
A welcome return to the Proms for one of Germany's foremost orchestras under its music director Herbert Blomstedt, who is making his Proms debut. They play Mendelssohn's enchanting incidental music, a Haydn cello concerto and Dvorak's final symphony, written in New York, in which the composer evoked the spirit of the folklore of the Americas. Presented by Martin Handley.
