Jim MacLaine is 18, good-looking, bright-and fed up. On the day of his A-level exam he decides that pop music, a taste of freedom and - hopefully - girls will prove more important than schooling. David Essex plays Jim in this evocative and humorous portrait of Britain in the late 50s and early 60s.
