On London's south riverbank, Geoffrey Wheeler meets Christians who are giving practical and spiritual help to those living in this multi-racial society. Among them Shirley Hope , a member of an association which has transformed a redundant church into a place of worship and a much needed community centre. Their hymns are sung for this first Sunday in Lent in the Parish Church of St Luke.
