A very, very early morning board meeting gets the Hammonds and Bill Riley out of bed to learn that Merroney intends, that same day, to bid, on the company's behalf, for an ailing firm called Flair-freight. However, what Merroney expects to be a fairly easy day's work is made extremely difficult by his meeting with Jane Maxwell - a very tough lady.
