Jimmy Page began as one of those anonymous session musicians adding guitar licks to other people's records, but decidedenoughwas enough after finding himself booked for a Musak recording. He soon found a place in The
Yardblrds, first on bass and then as dual lead with Jeff Beck. Page created Led Zeppelin for an American public, but the band's sheer dynamism gave them a world audience. The band's demise left him very Isolated. Will there be life after Zeppelin? Research JOHN TOBLER
