Much mystery surrounds the movements of the Venetian explorers John Cabot and his son Sebastian. This broadcast describes how, in 1497, with ships and crews supplied by Bristol merchants and a commission from Henry VII , they crossed to North America and bact. and so inspired many from the British Isles to seek their fortunes on the sea.
