Great North Run Maze I Irvine introduces live coverage from the world's biggest half marathon - the 13.1-mile course from Newcastle to South Shields.
Expected to take part are some of the finest distance athletes, including Sonia O'Sullivan and Josiah Thugwane. Celebrities and 40,000 fun runners are also participating, as well as a team from BBC Sport who are raising money for the Helen Rollason
Cancer Care Appeal. Commentary is provided by David Coleman , Steve Cram , Brendan Foster ,
Paul Dickenson , Christina Boxer and Garth Crooks. Highlights can be seen on Monday at
2.50pm on BBC2.
