Asylum

on BBC One London

A late-night horror film
Starring Peter Cushing as Smith, Britt Ekland as Lucy, Herbert Lom as Byron, Patrick Magee as Dr Rutherford, Barry Morse as Bruno, Barbara Parkins as Bonnie, Robert Powell as Dr Martin, Charlotte Rampling as Barbara, Sylvia Syms as Ruth, Richard Todd as Walter, James Villiers as George

When Dr Martin arrives to take up a new post at a remote private Asylum, he expects to be greeted by Dr Starr, head of the institution. He is told that Starr is now insane and one of the patients. As a test of his capabilities, he must interview four patients and find which - if any - is Dr Starr. Each horrifying story leaves the young doctor more puzzled.
But he is soon to find that none of the fantasies of the four inmates are as terrifying as the situation finally revealed.
