The Good Old Days. The television programme, which began in 1953 with a live broadcast from the City Varieties theatre in Leeds, became a cornerstone of the BBC's Light Entertainment output for 30 years. Presented by Leonard Sachs , the show was characterised as much by its audiences in their Edwardian finery as by the quality and range of the acts.
