Since the Cultural Revolution began in the autumn of 1965. the majority of the leaders of the Chinese Communist party have turned against Mao Tse-tung . Obviously Mao's personality is a vital factor in understanding what is going on in China, and the same may be said of some of those around him. Mr. Harris considers Mao's personality and contrasts it with those of some of the other leaders.
