The Rape of Justice
In cases of sexual assault, are the courts too lenient when it comes to sentencing? Will the government respond to public disquiet? Panorama focuses on the case of one woman who says she's forgiven the man who sexually assaulted and viciously beat her, but that she cannot forgive the judges who sentenced her attacker. She wants the courts to be tougher on criminals and have more concern for their victims. As a Tory activist, she has been told by the Prime Minister that the government has "got the message". But has it? Deborah Davies reports.
