Play for Today: Intensive Care

on BBC One London

by Alan Bennett
Starring Alan Bennett, Thora Hird, Julie Walters and Elizabeth Spriggs

When his father is taken ill, Midgley makes a bee-line for the bedside, anxious to atone for the mistakes of the past... When his dad dies, Midgley is determined to be there, holding his hand.
Typically, his dad lingers. The hospital wants Midgley out of the way and maybe Midgley wants his father out of the way... Until, that is, the arrival of night nurse Valery.
