Baptism is one of the two great Christian sacraments. Most parents in this country still have their children baptised. But many clergy are very worried because they know that often the solemn promises made at Baptism on behalf of the child will not be kept.
Can anything be done about the present unsatisfactory practice? What, anyway, is the meaning of Baptism?
