Drama on 3: Daughter of the Air

A story of ambition, lust and conquest, by 17th-century playwright Pedro Calderon de la Barca, based on the classical legend of Semiramis, the warrior queen of Assyria. Produced in collaboration with the Royal Shakespeare Company, this first modern English translation by Dan Lewenstein is performed by members of the RSC in a version for radio by Sarah Woods.
