In the first of three Proms appearances to celebrate this season's East/West theme, Yo-Yo Ma and members of the Silk Road Ensemble perform a new work written for them by Chinese-American composer Bright Sheng. The survey of Messiaen's music continues in his spectacular Eastern-influenced orchestral masterwork. Presented by Piers Burton-Page.
