This light opera was written during the Great War by two lieutenants in the R.N.V.R.—Montague Phillips , now one of Britain's foremost light composers, and Gerald Dodson , who is now Sir Gerald Dodson , the Recorder of London. It was first produced at the old Empire in London by Robert Courtneidge in 1921.
