on BBC One London

This powerful romantic thriller from the director of Picnic at Hanging Rock received eight Oscar nominations. It is set against a background of clashing cultures and stars Harrison Ford, Kelly McGillis

John Book, a hardened Philadelphia cop, is assigned to protect Rachel Lapp, a member of the reclusive Amish community, when her son witnesses a savage murder on a rare trip to the big city. Forced to run for their lives, the three of them flee to the Lapps' home in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania - a rural idyll unchanged by modern technology and governed by devout pacifist beliefs. But the violence of the outside world is never far behind.
