Mrs. Dale, the doctor's wife, records the daily happenings in the life of her family

Maud French has offered the Fieldings a flat in their old house. Mrs. Freeman came out of the nursing home and went to stay with Sally in Chelsea. Maggs sent in his estimate for the alterations to the drawing-room, and Dr. Dale asked Bob to return half of the £100 he owed him. Dr. Fenimore offered to set Peter up in England so that he could marry Janet, but Peter was embarrassed and tried to refuse.
