It's nine months since
Britain's Olympic Champions Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean retired from competitive skating after a memorable amateur career which changed the face of ice dancing. Their first World Championship triumph in 1981 was followed by the magical era of 'Mack and Mabel', then came the brilliant 'Barnum' routine, and finally that inspired climax to Ravel's 'Bolero' in Ottawa last March.
Standing ovations became the order of the day as audiences from Hartford to Helsinki and Copenhagen to Canada acclaimed skating perfection.
