Originally formed in 1964, The Kinks have been part of the rock scene for nearly two decades, successfully withstanding the onslaught of the many different movements in music, and remaining one of the best-loved bands around. Lead vocalist and songwriter Ray Davies , the man who penned such classics as 'Waterloo Sunset' and 'Lola', continues to front the band. which in the face of the current 60s revival is enjoying an upsurge of the popularity that never really faded away.
