Tomorrow's World

on BBC One London

Vivienne Parry continues her report on Graeme Tennick, a victim of a car crash three years ago whose face is to be rebuilt in a pioneering operation. Tonight, the rehearsals on a precisely engineered model of Graeme's skull are over and Vivienne catches up with him two hours before surgeon Keith Postlethwaite attempts the real operation at Newcastle General Hospital.
From Australia Monty Don meets the inventor who has perfected a way to kill thousands of cockroaches in a single night in an environmentally sound way. On Easter Island the famous stone heads may last for ever but the last surviving tree was cut down for firewood in 1957. Howard Stableford reports on a plan to reforest Easter Island with an exact genetic copy of the trees that used to grow there.
Presented by Carol Vorderman with Shahnaz Pakravan, Richard Mabey and Rebecca Stephens.
