In a piece of original music for radio using recordings made in Ireland and Poland, composer and guitarist Jakko Jakszyk traces his tangled inheritance. Adopted as a child by Polish and French parents, Jakko grew up unclear about his roots and identity. Ten years ago, however, a phone call told him that his true mother was alive and living in America. Peggy Curran was born in Ireland, where for two decades she had been a singer with Jack Ruane 's famous touring band. Then she vanished to England, where she had two children, one of whom - Jakko - was adopted. His work plots a route through the lives in postwar Europe that contributed to his identity.
