Macbeth
A new production live from the Royal Opera House of Verdi's masterpiece in the 1865 revised version, directed by Phyllida Lloyd. Verdi's admiration for Shakespeare inspired him to music of great drama which vividly captures the evil scheming of the main characters as Lady Macbeth forces her weak husband beyond the point of no return before herself succumbing to madness. Presented by Christopher Cook.
Royal Opera House Chorus and Orchestra, conductor Simone Young
