POET SINGERS OF PARIS

on BBC Radio 3

The celebration in slang or realistic song of the joys and miseries of life, of Paris itself, has been a tradition since the time of Villon. Who are the troubadours of today?
In the first of three weekly programmes CARL WILDMAN illustrates the variety of their song and performance with the help of gramophone records.
Some of these troubadours have not travelled to our shores. In the second and third programmes Carl Wildman introduces two of them in their Paris haunts.
Extended version of the broadcast on December 31, 1968
Conversation with Felix Leclerc , talking and singing in French: August 21
