Tomorrow's World

on BBC One London

The latest news from the worlds of science, medicine and technology.

This week, Tomorrow's World unveils one of the great mysteries of the ancient Mayan civilisation from Mexico, which developed one of the most ornate and complex systems of writing ever devised. For hundreds of years, their strange hieroglyphs remained untranslated, but all that changed when ten-year-old
David Stuart visited the Temple of the Sun in Palenque, Mexico, and translated a major text in just one day, after the experts had been struggling to unravel its mysteries for five years.
David Stuart , now 30 years old, describes his continuing mission to crack the code of the Mayan hieroglyphs.
Presented by Howard Stableford and Shahnaz Pakravan, with Vivienne Parry, Philippa Forrester, Rebecca Stephens and Jez Nelson.
