' The Monsoon Lands : China and Japan-Japan 4, The North
A. B. LOWNDES, B.Com.
In his final talk on Japan today Mr. Lowndes is to take listeners north and show them the changing scenery. Hokkaido in the snow ; ice roads ; the thaw, and where the snow goes to ; spring cleaning; open fields; cattle and sheep, peas and beans ; houses, heating, and clothing-all these will come into his talk.
And listeners will hear about dog-teams, lumber work, fisheries ; about Karafuto and its salmon, herring, and crab. They will be interested to hear, too, something of the lives of children of their own age who live in North Japan. In the picture on this page they will see a little Karafuto boy giving a lesson to his fellow pupils.
