Pacifica - Non-Commercial Radio in the US
A report by Daniel Snowman
The Pacifica Foundation's four stations represent the largest and best established non-commercial network in the USA, offering a forum for independent and radical views and for new literature and music, and financed entirely by listeners' subscriptions.
Daniel Snowman reports on the present state of this much attacked enterprise. He talks to broadcasters and listeners in California and to FRANK GILLARD , formerly the Managing Director of BBC Radio, now consultant to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting which was set up with Federal funds to support non-commercial broadcasting enterprises in the USA.
