Dr. Dale persuaded both Bob and Sally to take a short holiday at Gimlet Green. While Bob was away, Angela went to Virginia Lodge, unable to believe what her father had told her about Bob's true feelings for her. Sir Bernard came to fetch her and told Mrs. Dale that he would shortly be taking her away on a sea voyage to South America. Mrs. Dale and Gwen went to the ' New Homes for Old' Exhibition in Oxford Street and were very interested in the conversion of old houses into new flats. Trevor heard a rumour that he was to be posted to Hong Kong after his training and asked Julie to run away from home and marry him immediately.
