New series Over the next two weeks
Stephanie Hughes presents the best of opera on CD in 2003, including new recordings, reissues of classics, and first issues of some of the great performances of the 20th century. Today she focuses on Italian opera, including Maria Callas as Bellini's Norma and Julia Varady and Jussi Bjorling singing Verdi. Plus new recordings of Ponchielli's Marion Delorme and Franco Alfano 's Cyrano de Bergerac.
