by Wilkie Collins
Dramatised as a serial in eleven parts by Howard Agg
6—' The Three Prophecies ' and Produced by Martyn C. Webster
Sergeant Cuff's visit with Gabriel Betteredge to the fishing village of Cobb's Hole, with the discovery that Rosanna Spearman has purchased a tin box and a length of chain in order to bury something on the shore, seems to involve the poor girl still deeper in the disappearance of the Moonstone. But the news that Rachel intends leaving for Frizinghall the next day, and the Sergeant's suspicion that the Moonstone is in her possession, is followed quickly by another startling development: the disappearance of Rosanna and the traces of her footprints across the shore into the ooze of the Shivering Sand.
