Today's elections across the UK will change the face of British politics. From Glasgow, Kirsty Wark introduces the BBC's marathon coverage of the results and Peter Snow will add his own amazing graphics and inimitable style as the tension mounts. In Scotland, voters have been electing the men and women who will sit in the first Scottish Parliament for nearly 300 years. In Wales, the poll was for the new Welsh Assembly. From Cardiff, Glyn Mathias sets the scene for tomorrow's declarations. But what will the new Assembly mean for Wales and will any party win enough seats to form a majority in Scotland's Parliament?

Across England, voters gave their verdicts in the local elections -the biggest test for the Labour Government since the general election.

Huw Edwards presents live coverage as those results come in. But can the Conservatives do enough in England's councils to claim that they have set out on the road back to power?

From studios and outside broadcasts across the country, the BBC's top presenters will provide up-to-the-minute information in a famous night in political history.
