Jazz File: Better Get It in Your Soul

on BBC Radio 3

Brian Priestley continues his series exploring the work of Charles Mingus.

After the setback of Eric Dolphy's death in 1964 Mingus withdrew from performing and composing but bounced back with the publication of an autobiographical book and the formation of a new group featuring pianist Don Pullen and saxophonist
George Adams. With contributions from Jimmy Owens, Jack Walrath, Howard Johnson, Gary Giddins and Sue Mingus.
