When Lassie is taken away from her owner Clovis Mitchell by the dishonest businessman Jamison, she is forced to make a perilous escape across the rugged West. With James Stewart as Lassie's proud owner, the musical score for the film is by the award-winning team responsible for Mary Poppins and The Slipper and the Rose.
