The Trio-Sonata

Today's programme, which represents a break in our sequence of predominantly string works in Trio-Sonata format, investigates a few examples from the repertoire of Trio-Sonatas scored exclusively for wind instruments. Christopher Hog-wood introduces the first modern performance of a newly reconstructed Sonata in F major, for two recorders by Handel, together with a work formerly attributed to Handel, and music by William Corbett. Telemann and Vivaldi.
