From the mid-forties forthe best part of 30 years, Nancy Evans was one of this country's best-loved mezzos. Hilary Finch looks back on her long career and presents a programme of BBC archive recordings featuring Nancy Evans singing Wolf, Mahler, Duparc and Bach, as well as part of a studio recording of Britten's Albert Herring introduced by Nancy's husband, the librettist Eric Crozier.
