Companies such as Volvo and Eka in Sweden have well-organised suggestion scheme systems - how do they compare with those in Britain? How many British companies have suggestion schemes? How successful are they? How much do they save and how much do they pay out in awards? These were some of the points asked at the recent Industrial Society conference when a national competition to find the best suggestion scheme was launched.
