A Modest Nine Years:
On Saturday, the self-effacing Liverpool manager Bob Paisley took charge of his team for a match at Anfield for the last time. His imminent retirement follows a glorious nine-year reign as Liverpool's boss - three European Cup triumphs being the climax of the solid professional no-frills approach to the club's daily life.
Alan Parry looks back at Paisley's managerial spell and life inside Britain's most successful soccer club.

European gymnastics Championships from Gothenburg:
The Ladies Individual Championship always provides spectacular viewing and the Soviet Union and Romania will expect to collect the bulk of the medals.
