Talkabout

on BBC Radio 1 England

Sixth-formers of Northgate High School Ipswich, Suffolk discuss the subject of Films and ask such questions as: What makes a good film? What makes a film an Oscar-winner? Is there too much sex and violence in the films which are seen generally today? What aspects decide if a film is rated an 'AA' or an 'X'?
Are the guidelines used for rating too lenient or too harsh for today's society?
Andy Peebles referees Radio 1's open forum - an opportunity for schools and clubs to choose a subject, provide a panel and even pick the music. Add a couple of invited 'experts', and the result is an hour's uninhibited argument interspersed with the debut performances of seven young DJS.
If you, your school or club have strong views on any subject that needs a good airing, contact: Talkabout, BBC Radio 1, [address removed]
