A couple of decades ago a craftsman was either firmly in the artisan tradition or was a bit of a hippy producing macrame plant pot holders in a disused barn. But today many craftspeople operate in urban settings liaising with hi-tech industry. Who are the craftspeople of today? What role do they have? Who commissions their work?
