Alcoholism is an acute problem to million people in Great Britain : 350,000 alcoholics and their near relatives. For the alcoholic one drink is too many and a thousand not enough.
Is alcoholism an illness in itself, or the symptom of an underlying illness? Modern methods of treatment are discussed in this programme.
