2/3. Donovan celebrates the life and career of sitarist guru Ravi Shankar , who entered western consciousness first in the 1960s, when his then-exotic Indian sound influenced the Byrds, the Kinks, the Rolling Stones, the Yardbirds and, most famously,
George Harrison and the Beatles. The series continues with a look at Shankar's collaborations with jazz saxophonist John Coltrane , violinist Yehudi Menuhin and composer Philip Glass. Plus a new and exclusive interview with Shankar, and input from daughter and renowned sitarist Anoushka Shankar ,
Roger McGuinn (of the Byrds), jazz guitarist John McLaughlin , pop singer Sheila Chandra , record producer Klaus Voormann , DJ Nitin Sawhney and musician/ historian Peter Lavezzoli.
