By-Election Special

on BBC One London

BBC1 joins forces with BBC News 24 for live coverage of, and reaction to, the outcome of two by-elections which took place today in the Midlands - Birmingham Hodgehill and Leicester South. In these two constituencies, which are tipped as winnable territory for the Liberal Democrats, Labour will hope for a night free of embarrassment after the paltry vote count they registered at June's local elections and the controversy surrounding allegations of postal vote fraud. Presented by Carole Walker. More at 4.30am.
