Chick Corea/Gary Burton
Jez Nelson presents a gig featuring pianist
Chick Corea and vibes player Gary Burton, reunited 35 years after the release of their celebrated 1972 ECM album Crystal Silence. Playing at London's Barbican Hall in June this year, the pair perform music from the original album as well as new material. An important member of Miles Davis's late-60s band, Chick Corea played in Anthony
Braxton's avant-garde group Circle before changing direction to form the jazz-rock fusion group Return to Forever. He went on to play acoustic and electronic music with musicians including Michael Brecker, John Pattitucci, Bob Berg and recently banjo virtuoso Bela Fleck. His partnership in the 1970s with Gary Burton yielded some of his most enduring acoustic music. Producer Joby Waldman
