Little Red Riding Hood's encounter with the wolf is a bedtime story we have all heard. But how much do we really know about the girl, and what actually happened during her forest adventure? Dr Ruth Glass of the Folklore Society looks at some of the different versions of this traditional and universal fairy tale and at some of its interpretations. With the help of among others: novelist Angela Carter , drama specialist David Male , folklorist Dr Bill Russell and Professor Jack Zipes , collector of all known versions of the story.
